About

Built in Australia. Registered in London. Measured everywhere.

Carbone Zero didn't start as a trading desk. It started with clubs, waste contracts and electricity meters — the unglamorous end of decarbonisation, where every tonne has to be counted before anyone gets paid.

The story

Proof first, then scale

The group's engine is Environmental Global Benefits (EGB), a Melbourne company that spent years doing decarbonisation the hard way: inside Australian sporting and community organisations — RSL clubs, racing clubs, AFL-linked programmes delivered with partners — where budgets are small, scrutiny is local and nothing gets hidden in a sustainability report.

That work produced a method: cut costs and emissions together, with no capital outlay, then certify the measured abatement under a published methodology. It also produced results — roughly 9,991 tonnes of certified CO₂e, documented client savings above A$150,000 a year, and recycling rates up to 98%.

Carbone Zero Limited, incorporated in London, carries that engine into Europe and international markets: brokering verified credits, connecting buyers and sellers across jurisdictions, and giving UK and European organisations access to certified Australian supply. Carbone Zéro in France handles French-market measurement and reporting.

We aligned our client reporting to the UN Global Compact's ten principles, and we ran our own model on ourselves — the French entity reached carbon neutrality through internal reductions plus purchased compensation. We think a carbon company that hasn't measured its own footprint is a strange thing to trust.

How we work

Four habits that don't photograph well, but hold up in an audit.

  1. Documents before deals

Every credit we touch traces to a registry entry, certificate or regulator. No paper, no trade.

  2. Fees in writing, up front

Brokerage lives on trust. Ours is priced before the transaction, not discovered inside it.

  3. Modest numbers, sourced

We publish figures we can back with a document on file. Documented-but-modest beats impressive-but-vague, every time.

  4. Skin in the game

We measured and compensated our own footprint before asking anyone else to. The model gets tested on us first.
